MOMENTS OF ELATION, CONTEMPLATION, INSPIRATION, FRUSTRATION AND MANY MORE EMOTIONS AS I GROW FROM A DOODLER TO AN ARTIST
Very well done! I'm admiring how you did the shadows so perfectly! I have trouble on portraits, creating a difference between the cast shadows and the contour shadows that shape the face. Do you use different pencils for different kinds of dark areas?
Thanks Katherine :) Once I define the shape, I block all my dark areas with a soft pencil (3B/2B). Then I darken the cast shadows and the core shadow(form shadow), usually with the same pencil ( just press it a little harder). If I need to go darker I sometimes use 4B.For all the light areas I use a harder pencil (B, HB,H).I hope I answered your question:)-Pragya,
